Copenhagen on 2 wheels

Experience Copenhagen like a true local - ride a bike ! This allows you to see not just the highlights, but gives you the opportunity to explore some of the other great attractions Copenhagen has to offer. On this tour we will cover not one, not two but three of the spectacular Palaces we have in Copenhagen, so you can take in the beauty of Amalienborg, the Royal Residence Rosenborg, the Royal Summer Palace and not least Christiansborg Palace at Castle Island. We will also have time to ride along the inner Harbour to visit the little mermaid. A stop in the hip and happening meatpacking district is a must, maybe just to have a cold beer ! We pass the iconic harbour bath, so if you are really adventurous, this is your chance to jump in the harbour for a swim at the waterfront.

Bike around the harbour

With a lot of new bridges emerging over the past years, and a radical change from industrial area to new housing and harbourbaths, Copenhagen Waterfront is the new playground for the locals. Jump on a bicycle and bike the 13 km trail and discover unspoiled nature, the klondyke community “ Nokken”, innovative urban planning where you can jump into your kayak just outside your front door. We talk about the history of Copenhagen from the time we were the centre of Heering trade to the international street food market. With all the new bridges Copenhagen is connected! It is a must to ride down the cool “cycle tube” , a cycling path up in the air and cross between the different neighbourhoods. On this tour you will see the versatility all around the city.

Countryside biking

Just half an hour from Copenhagen you find “Dyrehaven” a countryside parforce hunting ground designed for the King in the 16th century, so he could enjoy hunting deer and wild game. The open landscape spreads out over 1000 hectare with lakes, trees, plains and hills. To complete the scenery, a baroque Eremitage palace, towers on the hill overlooking the beautiful landscape. Then we jump on the train with our bicycles ( yes you can take your bicycle on the train) and explore the vast open plains and hopefully we meet some of the wildlife. We have lunch in the picturesque Raadvad, before we bike on to the open air museum “frilandsmuseet” , a collection of authentic farmhouses depicting the life of farmers and working class people. All in all a day in the idyllic setting of the countryside outside of Copenhagen.

The practical stuff

We provide bikes if needed. We suggest a maximum of 12 people per guide. Let us do the planning.

Mette was simply world-class as a guide. It was about her immense knowledge of Copenhagen, clever perspectives, really good rapport with all of us along the way, which felt very personal in the group, her ease in deviating from the script if there were comments or something happened along the way, friendliness, humor, and much more - a true pleasure!” i form af afvigelser fra scriptet såfremt n”

Sara was our tour guide in Copenhagen, she introduced us to the city and showed us how beautiful Copenhagen is. During the 4 hour walk we stopped at the palace and learned about Royal family, visited university, some historic churches, learned about history of Jewish community in Denmark and other sites (sorry, little Mermaid was not on our agenda). Sara took us to the hidden spots which we otherwise would miss, gave us great recommendations for our stay in the city. We absolutely enjoyed the tour and the city. We want to come back!

 Natasha, Atlanta

“Thank you for the inspiring Christmas tour, which was great for both the mind and the stomach. A truly wonderful tour that, as always when Copenhagen this Way is involved, provides a new perspective on the city – and in this case, also on Christmas. Highly recommended!”

We went on two wonderful tours with Sara - Tour of Dragor and Biking Tour Of North Zealand and I would highly recommend Sara. She is very bright, interesting to listen to, and very patient. Most of all, Sara is easy to be with and a terrific guide. She really helped make our time in Denmark truly special!!!
